How to Gua Sha

by Michelle Lui |

New to gua sha face and body massages? It can seem a bit intimidating at first, but we promise you it’s a very relaxing (and addicting) ritual you’ll want to keep doing over and over again.

When practiced regularly and done correctly, the practice promotes better circulation, and healthy lymphatic flow, as well as reduces puffiness and lessens the appearance of lines. With this type of shift in your skin, you will have a toned complexion with a natural healthy glow.

First, preparing your skin for gua sha is very important. Ensure your skin is completely clean, and then apply our All-Over Oil. This will help the tool glide.

  1. Start by opening up the entire neck and shoulders before moving on to your face.
  2. Then move to your legs and work your way up, finishing with your arms.
  3. Take deep breaths, move slowly, and most importantly, stay hydrated.

For best results, perform each movement five to ten times per area. This ritual is typically practiced two to three times a week, but you can do it as often as daily, in the morning or evening.

Follow this guide on how to use each edge. Learn more about our Aventurine Gua Sha.
