We sat down with Taren Grewall - Kinesiologist, Trainer, and one of the Co-Founders of ALL Studio. She's also a proud mama to two beautiful twins.
Who is Taren?
Taren Grewall specializes in strength and conditioning, rehabilitation and Pilates through her practice as a Kinesiologist. Taren believes that we carry our life stories in our bodies. For her, movement has always been a place she feels grounded and connected. Regardless of the peaks, valleys or seasons to her life, diversity in movement has been a positive facilitator for change and clarity both physically and mentally.
Taren’s approach is deeply personal and intentionally inclusive. Taren honours that every body is different, and designs her training around how each individual human moves, heals, and grows in their own way.
What is ALL STUDIO?
ALL Studio is a brand new space that’s redefining inclusive fitness in Vancouver. Offering Reformer Pilates, Mat Pilates, Chair Pilates & Strength classes, ALL Studio is more than just a workout—it's a community that is focused on building strength and resilience for all bodies.
Co-founded by Katie McKenzie and Taren Grewall, ALL Studio has developed the ALL Method—a unique approach that blends Pilates and strength training with instruction that is nervous system-aware to enhance both physical wellbeing and neurological resiliency.
What inspired you to open your own Pilates studio?
I truly believe that our life stories are held in our bodies. Movement has always been a grounding force for me to reconnect to my body, but unfortunately, a lot of the fitness industry teaches us to do the opposite. We are often told to push past pain, exhaustion, and fatigue - to use movement as a form of punishment. Katie and I opened ALL Studio to create what we felt was missing in the movement world: a space to show up uniquely as you are, using your own nervous system as a guide to navigate your movement practice to give you the workout you both want and that your body needs.
How has Pilates impacted your personal health and wellness journey?
Pilates has taught me the balance between strength and softness. My background as a movement coach began in strength and conditioning, and anyone who knows me will tell you—I come in hot. I’m fiery, I’m loud, and I thrive in intensity.
In 2019, while navigating my fertility journey, I found Pilates. It aligned perfectly with what my body needed at the time. Through it, I discovered a practice that complemented my strength training, while also introducing me to deep core connection, pelvic stability, and mobility.
Pilates taught me to slow down and realize that there’s just as much fire in intentional, low-impact movement as there is in a sweaty HIIT class—it just looks a little different.
It completely transformed the way I moved, especially through IVF, pregnancy, and postpartum recovery. Pilates has been a grounding, empowering force in my personal health and wellness journey.

In your experience, how does Pilates contribute to mental wellness?
Pilates, specifically speaking to ALL Method, allows you to start a conversation between your mind and your body. The integration of mindful movement with breath grounds you into movement in a whole new way: it allows you to learn where your edges are, and teaches you how to turn those edges into curves. It builds mental resilience that extends far beyond the mat.
What does wellness mean to you as both an individual and a business owner?
To me, wellness means honouring your own unique journey: whether that be in movement or in life. From my own lived experience and from working with so many incredible humans, I know that wellness looks different for everyone, and that no two individuals are on the exact same path. From my experience as a mama of two-year-old twins, I also know all too well that what we need and what we have capacity for can shift over time, and wellness is all about honouring those different seasons of our lives.
What sets your studio apart in terms of approach to holistic health?
From top to bottom, ALL Studio celebrates a choice-based approach to movement. We like to remind everyone that we are just here as guides, and we understand that nobody knows your body better than you do. Nothing makes us happier than seeing people start to shed the judgment and criticism that often comes with movement - to release what they think they're "supposed" to do, and instead to listen to their body and just do what feels good!
What are your top 3 daily wellness habits?
Nighttime routine. Sounds funny since having the babies, I have been doing this for them. And recently, I started it for myself. I often can’t control the mornings. So for me, my nighttime ritual is now sacred, setting me up for success.
- No phone in my bedroom so I wake up and it's not the first thing I look at.
- 5-minute journal write whatever I need to. Some days gratitude, some days just my reflections.
- Sleep ( trying to get 6-8 hr hours of sleep)
Lastly, what is your favourite MIFA product and what do you love about it?
It has to be, All-Over Oil. I used it on my belly and body every day twice a day while I was pregnant. This ritual was one of my favourite pregnancy moments
